Texas A&M Aggies have secured a commitment from five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland III, a significant addition to their 2027 recruiting class.
The commitment was announced on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel on Sunday, with McFarland choosing the Aggies over the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs.
Mike Elko and his team now have seven five-star players in their 2027 recruiting class.
This commitment strengthens the Aggies' standing as the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, with 18 blue-chip prospects and 11 players ranking among the 100 best in the country.
Eric McFarland III is ranked as the No. 38 overall player and No. 6 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite.
The Aggies are preparing for their next game against the Missouri State Bears on September 5, 2026.
McFarland's commitment solidifies the Aggies' position, with five of the top seven players from Florida now committed to the team.
He was originally a member of the 2028 recruiting class but reclassified up a year, and the Aggies offered him a scholarship in February 2025.
The 5-foot-8, 177-pounder led IMG Academy in receptions, yards, and touchdowns last season.
And with this commitment, the Aggies now have a five-star prospect committed at every position except quarterback and running back.
But the team's focus will shift to their upcoming game against the Missouri State Bears.
So the Aggies will look to build on their strong recruiting class with a win in their next game.
